Introduction

There have been relatively few individuals that made significant contributions to this field. As is often the case the discipline has developed through small contributions made by hundreds of practitioners - full bibliographic referencing will be found within each article on this site that relates to invisible radiation recording. This small article is more by way of a celebration of some individuals who made outstanding breakthrough contributions - without which the field would not have progressed. It is an intensely personal selection on the part of the authors, for which we make no apology.
